Q257408 ACC2000: AutoNumber Field Duplicates Previous Values After You Compact and Repair.

Symptoms

After you compacting and repairing a database which includes a table with an AutoNumber field, the AutoNumber is a duplicate of an earlier AutoNumber when you try to enter new data into the field.

Resolution

This problem has now been rectified in the latest edition of Jet Service Pack. Download the latest version of the Jet 4.0 database engine to update your system.
