The database is in an unexpected state

Symptoms

This error message appears when trying to open an access database.

Resolution

This message is a common indication that there are damaged (corrupted) objects within the database such as forms to Compact and Repair the database in the normal way. We recommend that you try to Import all database objects (tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, and modules) into a new database.
